Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Prepare to mask vehicle panels and components
   • Job requirements are determined from workplace instructions
   • Masking materials and methods are selected according to workplace instructions
   • Hazards associated with the work are identified and risks are managed
   • Masking tools and equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) are identified and checked for serviceability
   • Work is planned to minimise waste and use time efficiently
2. Carry out masking activities
   • Vehicle surfaces and components that require masking are identified, cleaned or removed
   • Masking activities are carried out according to workplace procedures and safety and environmental requirements, and without causing damage to vehicle surfaces and components
3. Complete work processes
   • Final inspection is made to ensure work is to workplace expectations and component is presented ready for use
   • Work area is cleaned, waste and non-recyclable materials are disposed of, and recyclable material is collected
   • Tools and equipment are checked and stored according to workplace procedures
   • Workplace documentation is processed according to workplace procedures
